This week we are introducing the Creative Services Team. Who is behind those sharp and punchy designs? Who makes the websites load so smoothly? Who consults the partners on what solutions best fit their needs? Who cracks that whip to get this herd of creative cats working like a well oiled machine? Read on and get to know who we are and what we do!
Matthew Cunningham {Creative Director}

Matthew is the Director of the Creative Services department. As our fearless leader, he creates the vision for our department. His goal is to create compelling and engaging designs centered on achieving the client’s needs and wants. He’s best know for his sayings “Content is King” and “Avoid the Dead Sea Scroll of Content”.
Matthew is also secretly a world famous DJ and played professionally in San Francisco for a short while under the alias “DJ Mat-e”. Now you can find him mixing it up in his spare bedroom entertaining his wife and two children.
Mari Chamoun {Design Coordinator}
As Design Coordinator, Mari’s job is to make the redesign process a user-friendly experience, while cultivating a sense of excitement and understanding of design and content layout. Her goal is to help our associations create a more engaging website and provide the knowledge to maintain the design moving forward.
Mari is originally from Puerto Rico and moved to Austin 5 years ago. She enjoys the beautiful city of Austin, TX and all the people, food and live music it has to offer.
Amy Eddins {Creative Consultant}
With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Amy is the Creative Services Consultant. She received her degree in Environmental Design and was previously a Graphic Production Artist. She loves to help associations enhance and improve their website by focusing on their goals and priorities.
Amy is married and has 4 children still in school. She enjoys watching kids’ sports, art and live music.
Heather Gonzalez {Senior Web Designer}
Meet Heather, the Lead Web Designer. With a BA in English, she hopped on the design wagon over 9 years ago and worked at Austin companies such as QuickArrow and White Lion Internet Agency.
From San Antonio originally, Heather lives in North Austin with her husband and daughter, with whom she enjoys a Friday night tradition of “pizza night”.
Matt Eng {Web Designer}
Matt is a Junior Web Designer with an eye for simple and elegant designs. He designs sites so that the overall message is effectively communicated to the target audience. Matt moved to Japan at a tender age and, besides finding loads of inexpensive sushi there, discovered his love for Japanese aesthetics where powerful messages can be communicated through subtle lines and few colors. His experience in Japan helps ground him as he approaches every project.
Donna Dong {Web Designer}
Originally from Austin and proud of it, Donna is a Web Designer whose focus is the Association Career Network, Affiniscape’s job board application. She designs marketing collateral for associations, helping each promote their Career Center and generate non-dues revenue.
When not at the office, you can find Donna at a concert soaking in some live music, at an Austin eatery stuffing her face, at the movies hugging a bag of popcorn, on the tennis court practicing her strokes, at the gym working up a sweat or in bed catching up on her DVR. She also enjoys her monthly sleepovers with her adorable niece and nephew.
Marcus Ellis {Senior Front-End Developer}
Marcus is the Lead Front-End Web Developer whose primary role is to take the designs that the designers create and reproduce them pixel for pixel within Affiniscape’s system. Marcus mostly works on building custom website designs and developing innovative new features. With a bachelor’s degree in Acting and a master’s degree in Set Design, how he wound up in the web world is still a bit of a mystery.
Mitch Dunaway {Junior Front-End Developer}
Mitch, a Junior Front-End Web Developer, fills the niche that lies somewhere between graphic design and computer programming. Although he writes code, that code is mostly concerned with type, colors, placement and images.
As a dyed-in-the-wool geek and technophile, Mitch enjoys things that celebrate technology like sci-fi movies, electronic music and fantasy art. He spends most of his time bathed in the light of a monitor of some sort. His favorite food is pizza (sushi is a strong contender).
Kari Grooms {Front-End Developer}
Kari is a Front-End Developer and primarily focuses on providing front-end support for Affiniscape’s job board application and other internal projects.
Outside of work, she enjoys fronting her one woman band in her Kari Kave, and experiencing all of the fun and exciting events, restaurants and outdoor activities Austin has to offer.

You all have weird, vertically-oriented eyes; is that what makes you so creative?
That’s true. Our funny eyes help us see things differently.
