As a start-up, Shoplocket’s site offers an easy to navigate design that focuses more on simplicity and creativity rather than a hefty list of features. The juxtaposition of large swatches of color is a nice change of pace, though white text on light pink is pushing it a bit. Continue reading

Whether urging customers to buy your product on an eCommerce site, encouraging users to join your organization, or just getting them to dive deeper and read more content, it’s critical to encourage users to take that next step. One effective way to do this, is to create eye-catching call-to-action buttons. Web designers have been creating buttons for years, but until recently, really eye-catching buttons had to be created using static images. With CSS3 properties being more and more widely adopted by browsers, we can now achieve the same look with pure CSS and very little markup. Continue reading
